Environmental Wisdom is an Engineering Consulting firm based in Perth, Western Australia. Environmental Wisdom focuses on sustainable services such as industrial resource management, industrial symbiosis, carbon emission evaluation, mitigation and adaptation management strategies.

The team of consultants are led by Dr Biji Kurup, who is a Chartered Professional-Civil and Environmental Engineer (CPEng). Dr. Kurup holds PhD in Industrial Ecology and Sustainability from Curtin University, Australia.

Governments are funding individual projects faster than anyone is sequencing the system those projects depend on. Public money gets committed to a smelter, a hydrogen plant, or a processing node before anyone has mapped the shared infrastructure, the feedstock, and the governance that project actually relies on. Circular Ecosystems learned this the expensive way. It began as exchange software at Kwinana, matching one operator’s byproduct to another operator’s feedstock; the matches were real and the value was real, but nobody held the authority to act on them, so most of them died in a spreadsheet. The firm rebuilt the whole approach upstream, around the decision and the governance, because that is where the value actually leaks.

That rebuild was grounded in the Kwinana Industrial Area, where 54 companies run more than 170 energy, water, and material exchange contracts. Today Circular Ecosystems works across Western Australia’s industrial corridors and into national critical minerals contexts, and it contributes to the World Economic Forum’s Transitioning Industrial Clusters initiative as one of its founding clusters, an initiative that now spans 39 clusters and 24 ports.
